"Drive it like you stole it" - fully agree, especially when it is said about smart PinPad attached to the ECR in a busy retail. The goal to get device 24x7 ready and do its job quickly, to my opinion, is not achievable without mounting stands.

Stands do three major things:

• a) alert customer to prepare card to pay
  
• b) make payment convenient to the cardholder
• c) save payment device and connecting cables from damage.
  

This sum of a+b+c gives faster service of each customer and provides maximum uptime for the device, meaning - money.

VeriFone Vx820 on the picture is old and very dirty but still perfectly functioning specimen. Nothing of plastic is broken, the cable is in proper position and no sharp bending or tearing is possible.
